Tom is an established independent human resources consultant with over 15 years of professional work experience. Most recently serving as Senior Director of Human Resources and Administration for Plymouth Housing Group and Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southern California. He was the Vice President of Human Resources and Internal Operations for the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA and in the private sector he worked for major corporations such as Paramount Parks, SEACOR Corporation and Cedar Fair LLC.
In these roles, Tom has been responsible for setting the strategic direction for human resources and providing overall leadership to these organizations including the strategic and tactical tools necessary to accelerate staff performance and the expansion of organizational capacity. He has been responsible for the design and implementation of key organizational effectiveness processes including succession planning, performance management, leadership development talent selection and retention programs that attract the best and brightest individuals, employee engagement and related programs to create a high performance organization.
As a consultant, he has provided support to Executive Directors, Senior Managers and Boards of Directors in the areas of recruitment and selection, staffing, operational reorganization, strategic planning, labor law interpretation and implementation, training, conflict resolution, employee relations and executive coaching.
Tom received his bachelor degree in Human Resources from the University of Toledo and holds a Masters degree in Nonprofit Leadership from Seattle University. He is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resources Institute in Alexandria Virginia.
